Buffer Magnum in police livery which is preferred over all others because wagon.
Current cop cars made by the big three. Tell me your picks, assume all are being bought after standard police use. Personally, I’d DD the Caprice, track the Charger, burn the Ford.
Chevy Caprice PPV
Dodge Charger Pursuit
Ford Interceptor Sedan(Taurus)

DD: Charger
Track: Whichever is the lightest
Burn: What’s left

DD: Taurus
Track: Charger
Burn: Caprice

I’m pretty sure the Caprice has MagRide like the SS (sedan), top trim Camaro, CTS-V, and C7. I think that would make it the best track car.

DD: Explorer/Pursuit Utility.
Track: Charger
Burn: Tahoe and caprice.

Yeh, burn Taurus.

Reasons? I see the Ford as the weakest of the 3.

DD Charger.
Track the Caprice.
Burn the Interceptor.
And this is coming from a Ford fan.

I really don’t want a Caprice.

The current Taurus is just such a weak/boring/meh vehicle. Bring back the Crown Vic!

Gotcha. I like it because it is basically an upgraded, LWB G8/Commodore with tons of potential. It is very last gen Impala in the looks unfortunately.

DD: Magnum
Track: Caprice
Burn: Taurass (why not just bring over the Falcon?)

Wrong generation but... yeah. Burn it.

I really don’t like how previous-gen-Impala-looking the Caprice’s rear is, but I like the rest.

DD: Ford. AWD good for winter
Track: Charger cause
Burn: Chevy cause ugly

DD: Taurus
Track: Charger, but at a drag strip.
Burn: Caprice.

It really isn’t a bad looking vehicle, just a very bland Impala-esque ass. I might look into one of these when I finish college in a couple years, or a G8 GXP, or an SS if used prices drop. Basically I like 4 doors, RWD, and ass hauling. Sleepers preferred.

DD: Magnum
Track: Caprice
Burn: Charger

Burn: Caprice
Burn: Taurus

If I ever decided to buy GM, I’m getting this one

Don’t hurt the Magnum, it’s life was short.

Good choice, I rarely see these.

DD the Crown Vic. Burn the rest.
![]() 05/10/2015 at 23:13 |

Haha, I was waiting for the Crown Vic to get mentioned. It is the one true cop car.

From cops who’ve experienced B-Body Caprices and Crown Vics, it's an almost unanimous favoring of the Chevy. Apparently the Crown Vic is too small, less durable (holy fuck, how durable is the B-Body?!), and more high maintenance (again!). Idk about the current crop, but I always bet on LS.

The upgrade to Magna-Ride to the SS wasn’t made until this model year. I am not sure if that was also made to the Caprice.
With that said: DD Magnum, Track Caprice, burn Taurus

The Caprice with the Lt1 was a special treat, but all the other new cars suck ass in comparison to the Crown Vics. Speed is literally the only thing they have on them.

The Lt1 Caprice was great, a ‘96 can still blow a Crown Vic or Impala away today. Sadly, Chevrolet filled the slot of the Lt1 RWD Caprice with a shitty FWD V6 POS known as the Impala. Pretty much giving the game up to Ford. I love them both though, if somebody offered me a P7 1 or an Lt1 9c1 I'd have some trouble choosing.

DD: Taurus
Track: Caprice
Burn: Magnum
honestly i would DD the caprice too if i could

I knew about the SS getting Magna Ride this year. I vaguely remember reading something about the Cprice getting in a couple months ago. No clue if true, it would make sense in my opinion.

I always have a soft spot for GM vehicles, but yeah this is out of nowhere. I always read panther/Crown Vic beats all others. Wut?
![]() 05/10/2015 at 23:55 |

The Taurus is like a couch. I’d rather DD a couch than something less comfortable.
![]() 05/10/2015 at 23:55 |

Actually if I remember correctly the Taurus (With the SHO engine) was the best performing cop car during most cop tests. It was awhile ago though, so I'm not 100%. That said, it looks so intimidating. So does the Charger, but not the Caprice.

Ask any cop who’s been a cop since the ‘80s. The Crown Vic only really blew up in the late ‘90s-early 2000s. Before then, the preferred cop car was the Caprice. There’s a reason that’s the name they went for with the new one, it has name recognition among the senior guys who have the most sway.

This history lesson pleases me. LS ftw.

i agree with your selection.

I mean, I do really like the SHO but compared to the others it isn’t up to scuff.

I too like Fords in general but the Taurus just isn't up to what the others are.
